Members of BOMA Alabama (including McCorquodale Transfer) accomplished another successful work-day. On Thursday, September 6th 2018, our group of volunteers had the pleasure to work for (and with) a wonderful young lady. She’s going to be a new homeowner, and here is how we pitched in to help. We had a record 30 volunteers this year, a BOMA Alabama record!

The Habitat supervisor had several objectives for our group this year – insulation, installing windows, waterproofing, and general cleanup. The insulation (volunteers) teams measured, cut, and secured the Styrofoam insulation to the outside panels. Another team of volunteers installed and secured windows with nails and waterproofing tape to seal the deal. Debris was carried to the onsite dumpster throughout the day by all volunteers.

Habitat for Humanity Greater Birmingham is a hand-up for families in need of affordable housing solutions. Thousands of volunteers donate their time, expertise, and resources to Habitat every year, including BOMA Alabama and McCorquodale Transfer. In only a few weeks, a family will have a new home thanks to Habitat for Humanity Greater Birmingham, various donations, and volunteers trying to make a difference.
